Has me thinking.
WHO CARES? Who cares if someone is color-blind in regard to the color of someone's skin. Who care's if someone is astutely aware of the color of someone else, as long as they are not racist? John Legend has it right. We shouldn't love someone "in spite" of their color. We shouldn't love someone because of what color they are (or in some cases, aren't). It's alright if we see race.
I think that everyone should embrace their race. Embrace their racial heritage.
My Husband is half Korean, thus making our daughter 1/4 Korean. We're not ashamed of race in this house. When my Husband and I considered adoption, we were fully open to adopting a child of another ethnicity. Be it African, Asian or South American. We regularly eat Korean food and I've even learned to cook a few traditional Korean dishes. We debated about adopting from Korea and that probability is still on the table.
I personally think everyone is up in arms over something that should really be a non-issue in this day and age.
