Downward Facing Dog

I went to Yoga today. Those of you who know me fairly well will not be shocked by this. Those of you who have read my blog, especially the posts back at the beginning, will note that this is not abnormal.

It has been a 4 week gap since the last time I even so much as set foot in the gym, let alone a yoga class.

I love Yoga. I honestly do. I always feel centered, exhausted (in a good way), re-energized (not in an I'm-gonna-run-a-marathon way) and at peace with things. I'm usually much more relaxed for several hours (sometimes a day or two even) after a good Yoga session.

Today, however, I learned that my "Downward Facing Dog" has been wrong for the last, oh I dunno, TEN years!

Talk about a bummer to my post-yoga high :(

I was in COLLEGE before anyone told me I had a speech impediment. By that point, I had been acting over 15 years! You would have thought SOMEONE would have mentioned something.
Life is about learning and improving. Okay, so you were doing it wrong before . . . you have it right NOW. That is the important thing. What is the point of taking classes if you already know how to do something perfectly?

I understand that. My issue was, I took beginner Yoga in a very VERY small class and the Teacher was very "hands on". I would have thought that out of all the instructors, at least THAT one would have corrected me. Or any of the various other instructors over the course of 10 years. It's just one of those things where you're like "Why didn't ANYONE tell me before?!" Such as with your impediment. Someone, especially in school where you could have gotten speech therapy, should have told you sooner.
