For the first time in my life, I will be travelling Internationally. Flight and hotel have both been booked. Passport is in hand. Child and dog care have been put into place.
Everything but the bags are packed.
For one thing, I have roughly 8 weeks until I need to pack. The other thing is that, well, where I'm going needs to be delicately and meticulously planned as far as wardrobe is concerned. Modest here and modest there are on two different levels. It's difficult to plan what to wear in a country that's 10000 degrees during the day but requires women to keep shoulders and knees covered at all times.
But, I am determined not to be shocking, or disrespectful in a foreign country. Which is why this is so darn difficult! My friend actually said "I can't wait to see you on the news for your eventual stoning death." Sadly...that's my fear :o

While I was in the middle east, I wore long flowy hippie skirts with tank tops and just had a really lightweight top to cover my shoulders. I did buy a lightweight silk scarf while I was there, but that's just because I was touring mosques. As long as your clothes are light and flowy, the heat won't be too bad :) (I was there in late June/early July, for reference)
